Holdrege Area Public Library to Showcase Creative Aging Arts Program at Iron Horse Festival
For Immediate Release
September 4, 2024
The Holdrege Area Public Library is thrilled to announce the culminating event of the Creative Aging Arts Program, set to take place during the Iron Horse Festival on Saturday, September 14th, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the library.
This special event will highlight the incredible work of participants who took part in the six-session Creative Aging Arts program, where the focus was on ceramics. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the artists, view the stunning ceramics the participants created, and learn more about the program's impact. Refreshments will be provided while supplies last. The Creative Aging Arts program was led by accomplished artist Rose Mapel from Eustis, NE. Rose guided participants through the intricate process of ceramic creation, allowing them to explore their creativity and develop new artistic skills.
This program is proudly sponsored by the Nebraska Arts Council (NAC), a state agency dedicated to sustaining and promoting the arts across Nebraska. NAC's support is made possible through the Nebraska Cultural Endowment, the Nebraska Legislature, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
"We're excited to showcase the talents of our Creative Aging Arts participants during the Iron Horse Festival," said Sierra Burrows, Program Coordinator. "This program has been a wonderful opportunity for community members to connect, learn new skills, and express themselves through art. We invite everyone to join us in celebrating their achievements." For more information about the event, please contact the Holdrege Area Public Library at 308-995-6556.
