Holdrege Area Public Library Welcomes New Director

Holdrege, NE - The Holdrege Area Public Library Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Sierra Burrows as the new Library Director.
As a Holdrege native, Sierra brings a wealth of experience, dedication, and passion for community service to the position. She has served as the Circulation Manager and Program Coordinator for Teens and Adults at the library for the past two and a half years and has been involved in other various aspects of the library and its services for nearly two decades.

Board President Cassie Ehrenberg said, “The Director Search committee enjoyed her researched and thoughtful interview, as well as her obvious passion for the Library. We look forward to working with Sierra more closely.”
Burrows’ long-standing dedication, combined with her innovative programming and community outreach efforts, has strengthened the library’s connection with local residents and organizations alike. Sierra expressed her enthusiasm for the role and her dedication to the library’s mission, “I am honored for the opportunity to lead such a vital community institution, and I am excited to contribute to its ongoing success. I look forward to working with the staff, board members, patrons, and community partners to enhance the library’s impact.”

Sierra’s vision for the library includes expanding resources, strengthening educational and community programming, and ensuring that the library continues to be a welcoming and dynamic space for all. Her collaborative spirit and leadership experience will guide the library through future growth and change as it continues to meet the evolving needs of the Holdrege community. “I believe that 21st-century libraries are more than just places for books,” Sierra said. “They are places of connection, learning, and growth, and I’m committed to ensuring that our library continues to thrive as a resource for all.”

The Board also wishes to thank Administrative Assistant Diana Urbom for stepping into the Interim Director role in June when the previous Director resigned. Her hard work and commitment have been instrumental in ensuring the library’s continued success, and we are deeply grateful for her contributions.

Burrows officially begins the Library Director role on Thursday, September 26. # # #
